Worship at Oak Knoll
Some might describe services at Oak Knoll as old -fashioned, but we prefer to use words like traditional, customary or familiar. Although we're very supportive of new ideas, we feel that worship doesn't necessarily need to try and confom to stay current.
Sunday School - 9:45am
We offer Sunday School classes to a variety of age groups including a Senior Adult class, a Young Adult class, a Teen class as well as classes for Children. We do have a Nursery area which is staffed by our female church members during Sunday School as well.
Sunday Morning Worship - 10:50am
We conduct a traditional Baptist Sunday Worship service, most typically with scripture reading, congregational singing, a musical special followed by a sermon from Pastor Miller or the occasional guest speaker.
Sunday Evening service - 6:00pm
The Sunday Evening service is a more casual version of the morning service. Scripture, singing and a sermon - with the message usually pertaining to a bible study or series of messages.
Youth - Sunday evenings 6:00pm
Our Youth Ministry is led by one of our deacons Clay Miller, who is also the son of our pastor Allan Miller. Clay will meet with our youth group on Sunday evenings in our auxilliary sanctuary while the regular Sunday evening service is being conducted in the main sanctuary.
The singing and music at our services is typically led by our music director Jeff Nutter. We sing traditional gospel hymns with accompanying piano and organ. Contemporary christian music is not the norm at Oak Knoll, but we do occasionally host concerts from a variety of musial guests.
Mid Week group meetings
In place of a traditional Wednesday night service, our congregation meets in smaller groups (3 groups currently) that are focused on bible study, fellowship and prayer for a variety of issues and requests. Each group meets at a different time. If you would like to attend a group meeting, simply contact Pastor Miller and he can connect you with the group best suited to your needs or interests.
