Pastor Al Miller was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He came to know Christ at the age of 9.  After graduating high school and taking a few college courses, he decided to go into the grocery business which he worked in for over 25 years.  After serving the local church for many years, he felt God wanted more from him and after much prayer and seeking the Lord's will, he surrendered his life to full time ministry.  He was led to attend the School of the Scriptures through First Baptist Church of Milford, Ohio.  He began his studies there in 1997 and graduated in May 2001 with a B.A. in Bible and Ministry.  While filling the pulpit for Oak Knoll Baptitst Chapel here in Marion, he was called by the church to become their pastor in August of 2002.  His wife Debra, who came to know the Lord at age 22, is also very involved in the ministry here at Oak Knoll.  Al and Deb have 3 sons who are married and all serving the Lord in their own local churches.  They have also been blessed with seven grandchildren.

"And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."    1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Oak Knoll Baptist is a family of believers who share the promise of eternal life, having accepted the gift of salvation through grace by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and then publically professing that faith through baptism.  We are committed to the preaching of the gospel and it is our vision to spread that message throughout our community.

We make every attempt to follow the example of our Lord Jesus by showing love, kindness and welcome fellowship to any neighbor, whether you're a member of our church or not - whether you agree with our doctrine or not.  Our one true hope is that we offer all who fellowship with us an opportuinity to hear the truth of the gospel and come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
